Introduction of Electroluminescence (EL)

Electroluminescent (EL) displays have their origins in scientific discoveries in the first decade of the twentieth century, but they did not become commercially viable products until the1980s.

ELDs are particularly useful in applications where full color is not required but where ruggedness, speed, brightness, high contrast, and a wide angle of vision is needed.

Color EL Displays technology has advanced significantly in recent years, especially for microdisplays. The two main firms that have developed and commercialized ELDs are Sharp in Japan and Planar Systems in the United States.

Electroluminescent technology is a great contribution for our lives. It used in many different areas, not only our normal life, but also advertisements, arts, sports, business, etc.

We have Electroluminescent Wire,Equalizer EL Car Stickers,EL Backlights,EL T-shirts,EL wire gifts and toys, such as EL Shoelace,EL Caps,EL Sunglasses,EL Bike,EL Earphone, etc.Electroluminescent products will be more and more popular in our future lives.

Lights & Lighting Overseas Purchasing trend

Led Lighting Overseas Purchasing trend, according to the report, April, 2011 is the LED searching peak by overseas purchasers, meanwhile, August, 2011 locates the bottom.

Base on the searching data shows that Sep., the top 3 areas with led requiring is Asia, Western Europe and Eastern Europe. It takes 65% of total percentage. These three market will be the mainly purchasing area.

Viewing LED relative key words, Sep., 2011, Led, Led Light, Led Lights,Led Lamps are highly concerntrate by global buyer.

In the latest 3 months, outdoor led usuage takes 42.7%, indoor 28.7%, Spot Lighting 12.3%, semi-outdoor 9.0%, landscape accent 5.0%, other 2.3%.

The buyers’ most favorable led input voltage are mainly 220V and 12V, 110V, 24V and other voltages only about 20% in need; colors are mainly white & color changing.

North America, Asia, Western Europe inquiry most in the past 3 months, USA, India, UK lies in top3 list. And Russia, Italy becoming more and more with purchasing, whereas HongKong and Australia weaker.

In September, 2011, LED purchasing companies focus on LED Lighting, Residential Lighting and Outdoor Lighting of the Lighting fixtures.Emergency lights needs growing, Portable lighting downing.

LED’s Future

LED represents the most significant development in Lighting since the invention of the electric light more than a century ago. It allows us to create unique, low energy lighting solutions, let alone its lower maintenance costs. As investment continues and technology advances, the price of LED is expected to come down by 10% or more per year. Click the below link to know more about the development trend of LED…

LED Marketing

LED market is ready for accelerated growth in lighting, display backlights and automotive applications.

The LED market reached $4.2 billion in 2006 and is set to emerge from its currents state of low growth, according to strategies Unlimited Emerging applications including illumination will drive the market towards $9 billion by 2011, as Tim Whitaker reports. Benefits of LED

LEDs produce more light per watt than incandescent bulbs. Their efficiency is not affected by shape and size, unlike Fluorescent light bulbs or tubes. LEDs can emit light of an intended color without the use of the color fibers that traditional lighting methods require. This is more efficient and can lower initial costs. Most importantly, LEDs can have a relatively long useful life. One report estimates 35,000 to 50, 000 hours, depending partly on the conditions of use, and incandescent light bulbs at 1,000-2,000 hours. Find more benefits of LED from the below link…

What is the LED

A Light-Emitting Diode (LED) is a semiconductor light source. LEDs are used as indicator lamps in many devices, and are increasingly used for lighting. Introduced as a practical electronic component in 1962, early LEDs emitted low-intensity red light. However, modern versions are available across the visible, ultraviolet and infrared wavelengths, with very high brightness. Want to know how exactly it works? Find it in the below link…

LED History

The Invention of LED involves a very complicated process. The first practical visible spectrum (red) LED was developed in 1962 by Nick Holonyak Jr., while working at General Electric Company. Holonyak is seen as the “father of the Light Emitting Diode”. M. George Craford, a former graduate student of Holonyak, invented the first yellow LED and improved the brightness of red and red-orange LEDs by a factor of ten in 1972. In 1976, T.P. Pearsall created the first high-brightness, high efficiency LEDs for optical fiber telecommunications by inventing new semiconductor materials specifically adapted to optical fiber transmission wavelengths… Want more information?
